OpenPRBB-24. Open House Day

The best infrastructure for life sciences and biomedicine in Southern Europe opens its doors to you.

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) invites the public to discover the research being carried out at its centres and to visit this great scientific infrastructure next to the Hospital del Mar and the Campus del Mar of Pompeu Fabra University. Its Open Day ( OpenPRBB ) will be held on Saturday 5th October from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During this day, more than 200 volunteers (PRBB residents) will show the public their work.

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES

Almost 1,000 places will be opened for guided tours of laboratories and services.

There will be more than 12 routes through the building, in small groups and lasting 60 minutes. There will be slots available on the 5th, but pre-booking of places on the website will be possible as of the 25th of September. Workshops and activities will be organised in the inner square for all ages and audiences.

In the Open-Air Science space, 15-minute micro-talks will be offered on various topics in the field of biomedical research. Prior registration will be required for the thematic workshops “Identify species with Python!” and “How to treat a genetic disease with CRISPR”. There will also be the Espai menut, a supervised space with experiments and activities aimed at the youngest children.

To participate in the guided tours and attend the Workshops, it is necessary to register in advance on the website. However, on the 5th itself, tickets will be available at the registration tent in the PRBB’s inner square. For the rest of the scheduled activities, prior registration is not necessary.
