The Centre de la Platja celebrates 20 years of bringing the sea closer to the public

This 2026, the Centre de la Platja celebrates 20 years as a municipal environmental education centre run by the City Council and dedicated to the sea and the coastline. Over the course of these two decades, thousands of people have taken part in activities, workshops, tours, exhibitions and projects that have helped them gain a better understanding of the sea and the importance of preserving it.

To mark this very special anniversary, the Centre will be organising a series of events throughout the autumn, from 22 to 25 October, inviting the public to celebrate, reflect and continue to strengthen the bond between Barcelona and the coast. This is an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and look to the future with the same commitment to raising awareness, public participation and sustainability.
