Barcelona, capital of the Creative Cocktail

50 of the city’s most relevant cocktail bars showcased their star cocktails promoting the cocktail art at a popular price. The event, held from March 14 to 17, was organized by the non-profit association of cocktail bars, Barcelona Bar Show (BBS), with the collaboration of the Barcelona City Council and Fecalon (Federation of Nightlife Venues of Catalonia).

The main purpose of the Barcelona Bar Show (BBS) is to raise awareness of the exciting world of cocktails in order to make Barcelona a benchmark city for cocktails. As reflected in international rankings, Barcelona and its metropolitan area has a large community of “bartenders”.

According to the president of the association Adrià Bonell , “Barcelona has a unique opportunity to promote a more creative and responsible type of leisure, highly recognized internationally and which lacks recognition in the city.”

Barcelona Bar Show is made up of the most prominent cocktail bars in the city, such as Sips , Dry Martini , Sueña , 14 de la Rosa, Bobby’s free , Creps del Borne , Skyfall , Paraíso and up to a long list of more than 50 cocktail bars, among which two from La Barceloneta participated, such as COYA PISCOBAR (in the Hotel W) and VRABA (in the building IMAX/AC Experience ) .

The main purpose of the BBS has been to bring the cocktail culture closer to everyone through four days of activities divided into two programs:

  1. BBS DAYS . During March 14, 15 and 16 each cocktail bar presented a cocktail (with or without alcohol) and at least one special activity.
  2. BBS SHOWROOM . On March 17, the cocktail fair was held at the Hyatt Hotel Dome, with the presence of the best cocktail makers of the city, and with cultural activities, artistic shows, music, specialized talks, food corners and spaces of the most powerful brands in the sector.
