Exhibition: “A Window into the Past.” June 16–July 27
Students in the 3D Animation, Games, and Interactive Environments programs at La Salle Barceloneta have created a collection of three interactive illustrations that allow visitors to delve into the neighborhood’s history through an augmented reality system. The project combines art, technology, and heritage with the goal of bringing culture, history, and architecture to life in a visual and immersive way. The virtual tour begins at the port, where visitors can relive the origins of Barceloneta. The tour then winds through the neighborhood’s most iconic streets, revealing its cultural richness. Finally, the experience culminates in Barceloneta Park, where visitors can explore its architecture in greater depth.
Exhibition “Painting Living History.” July 3–28
This exhibition features paintings created during illustration, canvas, and graffiti workshops, based on the participants’ reflections and studies on the art and memory of Barceloneta. These workshops were led by artists from the Ephemeral Arte Barcelona collective.
Exhibition “Recipes from the Past to Save the Future.” September 10–October 31
The project has revived traditional recipes and techniques from Barceloneta’s seafood cuisine, highlighting the role of women as guardians of gastronomic memory from the 18th century to the present day This initiative promotes the use of discarded or low-value fish species and natural preservation methods to prevent food waste, bringing together slow cooking, sustainability, and resilience in times of scarcity. The collected recipes are presented in an exhibition featuring historical panels and video testimonials, as well as in a free cookbook available at the Barceloneta market.
