Barcelona’s seafront becomes a major sporting and civic stage during the month of July, with international regattas, grassroots competitions, inclusive sailing and initiatives open to the public.
This intense agenda is jointly promoted by the Barcelona Nautical Capital Foundation with the Barcelona Sports Institute of the Barcelona City Council, the Port of Barcelona, the Olympic Port, the Catalan Sailing Federation, the Royal Maritime Club of Barcelona and the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona.
The calendar will include nautical activities linked to Grand Départ of the Tour de France , large regattas such as the Puig Classic Sail , the II Coastal Regatta – Agustí Gómez Rahola Memorial, the SoloMed or the European J/ 70 Championship , as well as grassroots activities and sailing clubs to bring maritime culture closer to children, young people and families.
The presentation of the Nautical Calendar was led by Natàlia Via -Dufresne, head of sports projects at the Barcelona Nautical Capital Foundation and double Olympic medalist, who emphasized the importance of close collaboration between institutions to continue promoting a vibrant, accessible coastline connected to the city.
This initiative, once again puts Barcelona as one of the main engines of the country’s sailing sport, alongside with its commitment to the nautical sports and citizen access to the coast.
