Port of Barcelona. Highly present at the 61st Boat Show

The Port of Barcelona hosts the 61st edition of the Barcelona Boat Show, which will be held from 11 to 15 October and brings together 220 exhibitors presenting more than 700 boats.

The Port of Barcelona, in collaboration with the Barcelona Nautical Capital Foundation, has its own stand located outside the fairgrounds. 

It is a space open to everyone with free access, located in the Plaza del Portal de la Pau, the Port wants to strengthen the link between the city of Barcelona and the sea, while giving impetus to the 37th America’s Cup, to be held in the port of Barcelona from August until October 2024. 

Sustainability and innovation, the major growth areas of the Port of Barcelona, also have a prominent presence. A full agenda of guided tours, educational workshops, cultural events and other activities have been programmed to encourage active participation and port-city interaction and thus publicize the various initiatives linked to the neighborhoods near the Port such as projects in sustainability and innovation. Finally, to bring the America’s Cup closer to the citizens and show what it means to host this regatta. The program will have the support and participation of ACE Barcelona, organizer of the 37th America’s Cup.

Two shipping containers complete the experience in the space that the Port of Barcelona has prepared at the foot of the Columbus monument. In one of them, visitors can enjoy a live artistic representation inspired by the America’s Cup, made by the students of the European Institute of Design (IED). In the second, visitors can enjoy an exhibition of the Old Port that will explain the twenty projects that will transform the port between 2023 and 2024. Visitors can also participate in various workshops and activities designed with the purpose of raising awareness and promoting ocean conservation, offering a complete immersion in one of the key aspects for the health of our planet.
