At the SALE Foundation, we want to build a more equal neighborhood with more opportunities for everyone, and we want to do so hand in hand with the social, cultural, and economic fabric of the region.
A key part of this fabric are the companies linked to the Port of Barcelona and social agents such as the Stevedores’ Union (coordinator). Recently, the SALE Foundation signed a collaboration agreement with BEST, a leading port logistics company, to launch the project “Women with Tools. Women at the Port” in January, which promotes the training and employment of women in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
A successful project
In previous editions, more than 60 women have trained with us and now work in fields such as mechanics, logistics, and building maintenance. These are emerging sectors with good working conditions that offer stability and a future.
New training: Basic Electricity (80 hours)
This January, we are launching a new free training course in basic electricity. It is a gateway to a highly sought-after trade with good job prospects. In addition, women who complete the training will have the opportunity to join companies with a promising future, stability, and a keen interest in recruiting female talent. For this training, we are looking for women with a driver’s license who are motivated to work in the maritime logistics sector.
