Reminiscence

To reminisce sounds like the past, like grandfather’s tales, grandmother’s anecdotes, mother’s stories or father’s fantasies.

Because reminiscing contains large doses of subjectivity. Between reality and memory something is always lost, but much more is changed.

It is not a lie, although sometimes it might be a little. But it is rather embellishing reality always to our own interest or to our own advantage. Since no one wrote a report and there is no evidence, and there were no cell phones to record it, who dares to doubt our word?

As we have said before, Essència Barceloneta was born to communicate the uniqueness of this neighbourhood. Its intention is to introduce you, to let you know, to invite you to discover… but also to help you to remember. To remember again with all the affection and the way each one wants to. That is because our experiences are our own and we have the right to version them.
