UPF reopens to the neighbourhood

The Campus del Mar of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra opens its doors to all those who wish to attend a class taught by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Each trimester, sessions are offered with contents from various subjects, such as Neurobiology, Human Physiology, Bioethics, Basic Concepts of Biomedical Engineering and General Physiology, among others.

Through the action “La Facultat al Barri”, the Campus del Mar wants to promote neighbourhood relations with Barcelona and strengthen the involvement of the university community with its environment. This initiative is an opportunity to bring teaching closer to society and although it may seem that the subjects taught are very technical, there are sessions that may be of interest to people far from the field of Medicine and Life Sciences, and “La Facultat al Barri” gives them the opportunity to know what life is like at the university.

The subjects we offer correspond to the different degrees taught by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (Human Biology, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering).

Upcoming sessions in the second quarter:

– 30/01/2023 – “Origin of Vertebrates” Subject: Zoology (first year of the degree in Human Biology) Professor: Salvador Carranza. From 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
