Aware of the importance of continuous training in the sector, the Fishermen’s Guild has organised a training course on Gender Equality in the Marine Sector on 21 and 28 September.
This is a subsidised classroom training course, given by the Iveaempa training centre. The initiative comes from the GALP Central Coast, EMC (Maritime Strategy of Catalonia 20230) and the Barcelona Fishermen’s Guild itself, co-financed by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Agriculture Fund (EMFF) and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Aimed at improving and promoting change in the sector, these initiatives are aimed at the fishing community. In this particular case, they address the gender gap in the sector. An inequality between men and women in terms of rights, access to resources and opportunities
