The progress of Vocational Training (FP) at a national level continues to rise and the demand for new students exceeds expectations. CESUR will begin the academic year with nearly 20,000 students, of which 60% opt for the online modality. This percentage has grown exponentially in the last 5 years, since in 2019 it represented 40%.
For Carlos Martín, general manager of CESUR , several factors are driving the growth of FP: “the wide range of training options; the dual modality that allows combining study and work experience in companies; and the rapid entry into the labour market that it provides, since three out of four of our students find employment during the first year.”
In the online modality, CESUR offers more than 75 Intermediate and Advanced Degree qualifications, with the most in-demand courses in the Health (56% of students) and IT (17%). Specifically, the courses in Nursing Auxiliary Care, Pharmacy, Dietetics and Multiplatform Application Development are at the top of the list of the most in-demand courses.
Dual FP: the challenge of the new course that requires solid agreements with companies
In addition to the growing number of students, this academic year begins with a new challenge: the implementation of Dual Vocational Training, which combines theoretical classes with practical training in companies.
For Carlos Martín, general manager of CESUR, “Dual FP is the best option to promote the incorporation of students into the labour market, since it allows them to know the reality of their job from the first moment and at CESUR we are proud to have supported it a decade ago.” He adds that, “in our case, we have solid agreements for our students to do internships in more than 5,100 companies, so the hard work of these last years has helped us to face the implementation of the new FP law with the peace of mind that the acquired know-how gives us .”
