With the beginning of June, Barceloneta once again presented itself as a united, generous, and supportive neighborhood . On June 5th , a blood donation campaign was organized in Plaza del Mar, in collaboration with the Barcelona Blood and Tissue Bank and Evolution. Yacht Agents . The campaign, part of World Blood Donor Day—celebrated on June 14 —aimed at facilitating donations among residents, port workers, crews, and visitors to the neighborhood.
A mobile Blood Bank unit was operational to receive donations in the heart of the neighborhood. Evolution coordinated logistics and pre-communication efforts to ensure strong participation.
Collaboration with the Barceloneta neighborhood.
The campaign was supported by several neighborhood organizations and groups, which helped to spread the word. Local businesses, neighbours, the Club Natació Atlàtic-Barceloneta and initiatives such as Mujeres Portuàries helped to get the message across to different areas of the community. Institutions such as the Barcelona Nautical Cluster and several marinas in the area, such as Marina Port Vell and MB92, also collaborated, extending the reach of the campaign among the maritime sector. This involvement contributed to significant participation, demonstrating the effectiveness of the collaborative work between Evolution and the Barceloneta neighbourhood.
For Evolution Yacht Agents, this action is part of its commitment to Barceloneta. Beyond its activity in the port, Evolution promotes initiatives that connect with the local reality and seek to have a positive impact.
An action to save lives.
Blood donation continues to be a constant need for hospitals and medical centers. Actions like this play a key role in maintaining blood supply and raising awareness of the importance of donating blood.
Following the results obtained—with a total of 20 effective donations and 3 exclusions— Evolution is considering repeating this initiative in the future, with the goal of consolidating collaboration with the Blood Bank and expanding the network of participants, both from the neighborhood and from the nautical and port sectors.
This good deed demonstrated the Barceloneta neighborhood’s capacity to participate in initiatives that go beyond the commercial or tourist sphere. The action was an effective demonstration of how coordination between entities can facilitate useful actions that are well received by the community.
