26th Edition of the Barcelona Commerce Awards

The Barcelona Commerce Award, organized by the Department of Commerce, Restaurants, and Food of the Barcelona City Council, celebrates 26 years of recognizing the city’s best commercial initiatives. The award was created in 1997 under the name “Barcelona, the best store in the world.”

Barcelona Commerce rewards the most outstanding commercial initiatives of the year. The award also includes the Barcelona Markets Award, now in its 14th edition. The ceremony, held on October 28 at the Astilleros Reales de Barcelona, was attended by merchants and representatives of trade associations and commercial entities, as well as the city’s municipal markets. Representing the municipal government were the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni; the deputy mayor for Economic Promotion, Commerce, Markets, and Labor, Raquel Gil; and the commissioner for Economic Promotion, Commerce, Restaurants, and Markets, Nadia Quevedo.


7 categories

The 2025 edition has introduced new categories to better adapt to current challenges. Establishments, brands, and professionals have been recognized across seven categories. Four new categories: -Relleu + Award, for businesses that have successfully achieved generational succession or transfer. -Award for excellence in shopping, which recognizes an innovative and high-quality shopping experience. -Award for brands or commercial groups that revitalize the city, aimed at collective initiatives that generate employment and dynamism. -ADN Barcelona Award, for companies born in the city with international projection. Three previous categories and mentions: -Albert González Award, which recognizes exemplary careers in the promotion and knowledge of commerce. -Jordi Maymó Barcelona Markets Award, with two subcategories: best individual initiative and best collective initiative within municipal markets. In addition, this year the jury has decided to award a Special Mention of a cross-cutting nature.

 

Award winners

Relleu + Award: El Tío Che. Horchatería y heladería del Poblenou (horchata and ice cream shop in Poblenou).

-Award for excellence in shopping: Dos Puntos. Wool and creative arts shop in the Huerta neighborhood.-

-Award for brands or commercial groups that energize the city: Servicio Estación. Leading DIY, hardware, and creative and design materials store.

-ADN Barcelona Award: Bodega de Gelida. A benchmark for wine culture in Sants and throughout Barcelona.

-Albert González Award: Maria Carmen Mateos Arrebola. Member of the Carmel Comercio Merchants Association.

-Jordi Maymó Barcelona Markets Award: Santa Caterina Market (Best collective initiative) and Ramon Fish Market in Sant Gervasi Market (Best individual initiative)

– Special mention: Próspero Puig (Tocinería Puig-Charcuterías Bosch). An essential figure in local commerce in San Andreu and throughout the city.
