The sea… all year round !

The Beach Center, Barcelona City Council’s municipal environmental facility for the sea and coastline, has enjoyed a season from April to October full of activities, experiences, and… sea! Games to learn how to care for our environment, biosnorkels that help us get to know the coast better and provide useful data for the scientific community, craft workshops, guided tours of the neighborhood and other areas, paddle surfing, activities to overcome your fear of jellyfish, talks and debates with your feet in the water… and much more!

Many of these activities have been organized in collaboration with organizations that work for the sea in Barcelona, and we are grateful for their involvement. This year, 87 activities have been offered, with 1,454 participants of all ages. In addition, the Center has been present at eight events and has coordinated the celebration of World Ocean Day, reaching 606 more people. The monthly exhibitions received 1,117 visits.

The Center also coordinates awareness-raising and waste collection activities: between January and October, organizations organized 94 activities with 4,369 volunteers. With the arrival of autumn, the Center closes until April, but it remains active with the Beach Laboratory, which you will find at the Feria de Nadal al Port (Moll de la Fusta) every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from November 29 to January 4. Don’t miss the workshops!
