Marina Port Vell Barcelona, a benchmark marina for superyachts in the Mediterranean, has renewed its Biosphere Certification for the second consecutive year, awarded by the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), in recognition of its work in sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
In 2024, the marina completed an ambitious transformation process, which included the realignment of the water surface, a landscaping design to contribute to the creation of a green space, and optimizing the fuel supply system to improve safety and reduce environmental impact. It also implemented an electric bicycle service to facilitate crew movement around the city, expanded wastewater collection points, and installed electric vehicle charging stations.
The marina also has an ESG plan that defines strategies to reduce its environmental impact and promote responsible operations, renewing its ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications, thus reaffirming its commitment to responsible environmental management and continuous improvement in sustainability.
