Created in 2013, it currently represents more than 1,200 companies from all sectors and technologies; its members are entrepreneurs, founders, executives and investors. It also has more than 70 corporate partners, leaders in their sector, committed to the project.

The association seeks to promote talent, support entrepreneurship, attract investment and improve the competitiveness of companies, with a programme of content, activities and connections aimed at promoting the growth of the sector and the transformation of the economic model of the city and the country; in a context of international projection and taking care of the impact of technology on society.

Tech Barcelona’s ecosystem model is deployed with the Urban Tech Campus project: a network of connected unique buildings so that innovation and technology are integrated into the city, involving, and coexisting with its citizens. In fact, Pier01, the emblematic headquarters of Tech Barcelona, has been in the Palau de Mar since 2016, a former port warehouse built in 1890 which, with the transformation of the city for the 1992 Olympic Games, was refurbished as offices. Pier01, highlighted by Forbes magazine in 2017 as one of the five most important innovation hubs in the world, is a building of more than 11,000 m2 that houses a hundred start-ups, corporations, incubators, investors and public institutions, and where more than 1,000 people work..

Between the 30th of November and 1st of December, Tech Barcelona is organising the third edition of Tech Spirit Barcelona, a benchmark event for the local innovative community with a global outlook and ambition. La Lonja de Mar will become a meeting point for the innovative ecosystem, with top-level speakers, the main references of the ecosystem and relevant content on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
