Bronze in Europe

The Atlético-Barceloneta Swimming Club extends its list of achievements by obtaining a new medal in the final of the European Champions League.

Having won all the domestic titles up for grabs—the Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and La Liga—they were one of the clear favorites for the continental final.

Friday’s semi-final against Serbian Novi Beograd was a hard-fought match but luck was not with the team from our neighbourhood, who lost on penalties (14 – 15). Thus, the option of playing the longed-for final, for which they had been preparing all year, disappeared.

With the desire to win a medal, they went out on Sunday to give their all against the French team CN Marseille. From the very first minute, they showed a clear superiority and won 19 to 9.

Conclusion, a new bronze, which the team and the fans who accompanied them celebrated in great style.

A European Cup, a European Super Cup and 5 bronze medals. This is the extensive international record that the sailors’ team boasts.

It is an absolute pride that a team from our neighbourhood has been in 6 occasions, since 2013, among the 4 best teams in Europe.

Congratulations CNAB ‘Bacalllà Sec Sec’!
