Barcelona Restoration Awards 2024

On 18 November, the 5th Barcelona Catering Awards were presented. The event, held at the former Fábrica Damm, recognised the most outstanding catering establishments in five categories: gastronomic quality, integration in the neighbourhood, sustainability, room service and catering in Barcelona’s markets.

Since 2017, Barcelona City Council has been promoting these awards, which are a tribute to the talent, commitment and innovation that define Barcelona’s restaurant sector, highlighting its contribution to the city’s identity and the well-being of its neighbourhoods and communities.

‘These awards recognise the work, effort and passion of the city’s restaurateurs, whose work makes Barcelona one of the most important gastronomic capitals in the world. They are also the city’s economic driving force’, remarked the councillor Raquel Gil.

Premiats by categories:

-Category of gastronomic quality: restoring Petit Comité, in El Eixample.

-Integration in the neighbourhood category: La Bodegueta de San Andreu, in the district of San Andreu.

-Sustainability category: restoring Rasoterra, in Ciutat Vella.

-Category of room service: El Pasadis del Pep restaurant, in Ciutat Vella, and especially the figure of Modesto Baena.

-Barcelona market restaurant category: restoring Hermós, fish bar, at the Mercat de la Llibertad.

-Honourable mentions:

-Restaurando 7 Portes, founded in 1836 and considered a true institution in the city, a space where every dish is a story, every service a tribute to tradition.

-Mr. Fermí Puig, a key figure in the city’s gastronomy, pioneer and inspirer of Barcelona’s gastronomy.
