An inspiring environment for life sciences and biomedical research

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) is one of the largest centres of biomedical research in Southern Europe. The seven centres located in the park carry out excellent science in a wide variety of fields. The PRBB has a critical mass of 1,700 people from 70 different countries. The scientific staff of the centres includes 283 PhD students, 248 postdocs and 221 senior researchers (PIs). The support staff is grouped into 562 technicians, 244 administrative staff and 137 others.

 

7 research centers

The research centres that are part of the PRBB are: the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences of UPF (MELIS-UPF), the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Barcelona Institute for Global Health ( ISGlobal ), the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE: CSIC-UPF), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL Barcelona) and the Pascual Maragall Foundation (FPM).
