2025 Catering Guide – 5th Barcelona Restaurants Awards
The 2025 edition of the Restaurant Guide has been published, featuring information on the winners, finalists, and honorable mentions of the 2024 Barcelona Restaurant Awards. The Guide is a proposal by the City Council’s Department of Commerce, Restaurant, and Food Services, with the support of Barcelona Tourism, to pay ongoing tribute to the uniqueness of the city’s restaurant scene and seeks to become a useful tool for citizens.
The legendary Bodegueta de Sant Andreu, which received the Barcelona Restoration 2024 award in the category of integration in the neighborhood, was the setting for the presentation of the Guide, chaired by the Councilor for Commerce, Restoration and Markets, Raquel Gil. “We have a city with a spectacular gastronomic and restaurant culture, where renowned restaurants coexist with small, high-quality establishments that define us as a city,” said the councilor during the presentation.
33 restaurants to discover
The Guide, in this second edition, has a presentation written by the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, where he highlights the exceptional gastronomic moment that the city is living, with more than 10,000 bars and restaurants, and erected in a world reference in restoration. In total, it includes information on 33 restaurants, among which the winners of the different categories of the V Barcelona Restaurant Awards stand out:
– Gastronomic quality category: Pequeño Comité, in the Eixample, for being “an authentic gastronomic reference, where the experience is synonymous with culture and emotion”.
– Neighborhood integration category: La Bodegueta de Sant Andreu, in the district of Sant Andreu. The jury valued that “home cooking becomes memory and identity, consolidating itself as a meeting point and celebration of authentic flavor”.
– Sustainability category: Rasoterra, in Ciutat Vella, for its “declaration of love for the land, biodiversity and commitment to the planet.”
– Room service category: El Passadís del Pep, in Ciutat Vella, and especially the figure of Modesto Baena, who is part of the room team. The jury emphasized that this establishment takes care of “every detail with unparalleled dedication”
– Barcelona market restaurant category: Hermós, a fish bar in the Mercado de la Llibertat, dedicated to fresh fish and seafood and with a menu inspired by seafood cuisine. This award recognizes the quality of gastronomic offerings that combine tradition and innovation at the bars and restaurants of the municipal markets.
The jury also awarded two honorable mentions. One to the 7 Portes Restaurant, founded in 1836, and the other to chef Fermí Puig, a key figure in the city’s gastronomy. In addition to information and photographs about the award-winning establishments and the two honorable mentions, the Guide also includes the finalists in the different categories.
