Promoting female talent in the field of ICT
From September 2 to 25, Barcelona hosted TechBcn4Women Days, a series of activities organized by the Tech Barcelona association and the i2CAT research center with the aim of promoting the presence and visibility of women in the technology and digital sector in Catalonia.
The program included a dozen talks, pitch sessions, and networking events. The activities, which were free and open to the public, aimed to raise awareness of projects led by women and generate new opportunities in a sector still marked by the gender gap. In total, around 50 speakers took part.
Tech Barcelona’s Pier07 hosted the main event: Tech Spirit Barcelona | TechBcn4Wo men Edition, which brought together leading women from the technology ecosystem such as Mariona Sanz (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Marta Estarellas (Qi-limanjaro), Ángeles Chacón (LLYC), and Elena Rico (Impact Partners), among others. Executives and professionals from international companies such as AstraZeneca, Tous, Nestlé, Indra, and Sanofi also participated.
The project has the support of the Government of Catalonia and European funding through the Next Generation EU program. In addition, organizations working to reduce the gender gap in the sector, such as Norrsken, SheBlooms, AFAEMME, and Juno House, also collaborated.
