The Agrupació de Comerciants i Industrials de La Barceloneta (ACIB) has renewed its board of directors and, for the first time in its nearly 73 years of life, a woman is at the helm. Sílvia Benito, a member of a family saga closely linked to the seaside neighbourhood, leads the new team, which includes Alfons Cánovas Ramos, Montserrat Valladares, Albert Enrich, Rachid Zahi, Alba Tomillero, Noel Kumar, Sergi Ferrer, Mario Batllori, Pere Bachs and Maria Jesús Vidal, who is in charge of dynamisation.
The new board, made up mainly of shopkeepers and restaurateurs, in love with their profession and our neighbourhood, have a great challenge ahead of them, which they face with commitment. The team takes over with enthusiasm, but knowing that there is a lot of work to be done, such as strengthening the organisation and at the same time promoting the neighbourhood’s local commerce and its networks.
They also want to thank the work done so far by the outgoing Board and begin this opportunity to represent the members of the Association of Traders and Industrialists of La Barceloneta with the aim of continuing to promote trade and gastronomy in the neighbourhood.
Youth and experience
In this new team, there is a commitment to a combination of young talent and the experience of those who already have more years, to seek, together, the best solutions in order to get the trade and gastronomy of La Barceloneta to the place of reference it deserves.
