The El Globo Rojo architects’ cooperative presents the exhibition “La Casa de la Barceloneta: A Neighborhood’s Living Memory,” based on the publication of the same name. This publication is a fold-out brochure that explains the history and architecture of CB1761, while also delving into the evolution of the neighborhood’s urban planning. The exhibition highlights various architectural elements, particularly some of the houses that have retained their original volume and appearance.
Exhibition “El Vigia de la Barceloneta” May 7–June 19
A small-scale exhibition featuring a video and printed covers that review many of the articles the gazette “El Vigia” dedicated specifically to the neighborhood’s history. This exhibition is part of the Historical Memory Series
“Traces of Barceloneta,” organized by the Barceloneta-La Fraternidad Library, Casa de la Barceloneta 1761, the Barceloneta Civic Center, the Juan Salvat-Papasseit Institute, and the Museum of the History of Catalonia, in collaboration with Paco López Tey.
Exhibition “Recapturante x Casa Barceloneta 1761” May 14–June 27
An exhibition and audiovisual project that revives the memory of Barceloneta through rephotographs that bridge the past and the present. The goal is to highlight the neighborhood’s evolution using the Popular Photographic Collection and thus bring history to diverse audiences.
ded Tour: “Barceloneta, a Welcoming Neighborhood: From the 18th Century to Today” May 13 at 4:45 p.m.
This tour aims to collectively construct a critical narrative about Barceloneta, highlighting its cultural richness and the significance of immigration in its history and identity. At 6:30 p.m., the tour will lead into “Piel con Piel” at the Barceloneta Civic Center, a performing arts project for teenagers aimed at preventing sexist and racist violence.

The El Globus Rojo architects’ cooperative offers a guided tour of Barceloneta to discover various elements featured in the publication “La Casa de la Barceloneta. Memoria viva de un barrio” (The House of Barceloneta: Living Memory of a Neighborhood), particularly some houses that retain their original appearance. This walk is part of the “Barcelona 2026. World Capital of Architecture.”
